Uniform List



The school colours are red and grey. All children are expected to wear our uniform which is smart, functional and will add to the school identity.

Girls – winter
School sweatshirt
White polo shirt, with embroidered school crest
Grey skirt/pinafore or grey trousers
Grey or white socks. Red or grey tights

Girls – summer
Winter uniform can be worn OR
Red and white checked summer dress & white socks.

¨    Occasionally second hand uniform is available and on sale. Enquiries regarding this should be made to the Friends of St John's.

¨    Both boys and girls are expected to wear sensible footwear which enable children to run and play safely. Boots and other fashion footwear is not appropriate and must not be worn. Please note that trainers are not allowed, except for outside games.

¨     All items of school wear must be clearly marked with the child’s name.


P.E. Kit
P.E. items are to be non- branded
A white P.E. t-shirt and navy or black shorts. Girls may also wear a navy or black skort.
Plain navy or black track suit bottom & top which may be worn in winter for outside games lessons.
A pair of black plimsolls for indoor P.E.
A pair of trainers for outside P.E. 
General Appearance

It is expected that all children will arrive at school clean, tidy and well-groomed. Make-up and nail varnish must not be worn to school.



Any child with hair below collar length should come to school with a band for tying back their hair when taking part in PE, including swimming and any other practical subject.

Extreme hairstyles are not acceptable. Shaved hair lines, for example, are not permitted.   

Simple hairbands may be worn. Hair accessories such as Jo Bows are not allowed.



No jewellery is allowed in school except stud earrings in pierced ears. However, these must be removed by the child for P.E., games and swimming lessons. The school cannot take liability for any personal items lost.

Please note; we are unable to remove earrings for your child or cover them with medical tape.

Unfortunately, if your child's earrings cannot be removed this could result in your child not being able to take part.



Only children in KS2 are permitted to wear digital or analogue watches to school 

No SMART / internet connectable watches are permitted.

No Fitbit type bands are permitted either.


Mobile Phones

Children are not permitted to bring mobile phones to school.
