Children

From time to time, we all engage in whole school activities. Examples include:

International School status. We were awarded this prestigious award from the "British Council" in recognition of the children`s work of a global dimention.

The Rainforest. For a week in October we all focussed on aspects of the Rainforest and produced some very exciting work. The children also raised over £2000 to help save areas of the rainforest.

Worship. Each term we take a Christian value and explore and develop its meaning. An example is Humility. During our collective worship times we will be looking at what it means to be humble. We will look at Joseph in the Old Testament who, at the beginning of his story, is proud and big headed and who learns to be forgiving and willing to serve others. We will hear about the time Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, teaching them to care for people. This all leads to Christmas when we are reminded that God sent his son Jesus to be born to ordinary people in a humble stable.

We hope our children will learn to be proud of their gifts and talents using them to care for and help wherever they can.

WOW...or Walk on Wednesday. We are pleased to take part in this KCC initiative. The children are rewarded for walking to school on Wednesdays. We usually achieve over 190 walkers (there are 222 children in the school).
