Welcome to St John’s CE Primary School Foundation stage where a very warm welcome awaits you and your children.
We have two classes in our Foundation Stage, Toucan class and Parrot class, but we operate very much as one team working together to give the children in our care the very best start to school life that we can.Like the rest of the school, we base everything we do in the Foundation stage on the core Christian values of Friendship, Forgiveness, Trust and Compassion.
We pride ourselves on working with the children and their families to help them achieve the best they can. Results from the end of year 2013/14 show 83% of the cohort achieved a Good Level of Development; this is compared to 61% of children nationally, 97% achieved the expected level or above in reading compared to 74%nationally and 92% achieved the expected level or above in number compared to 75%nationally.
What can you expect for your children when they come to St John’s?
- A dedicated team of professionals who work closely together to provide a range of exciting experiences that will help your children learn and develop.
- A safe environment where children will feel accepted and cared for. A place where the views and opinions of the children are listened to and their needs met.
- Two large and newly decorated classrooms and a large, fenced off outdoor area. The children have access to a wide range of resources and activities which excite and challenge them in all seven areas of the Early Years curriculum.
