Infant Agility Tournament
Well done to the 10 children from Penguin Class who took part in an infant agility tournament this week. Out of the 12 local schools that participated we came in third place! Our team performed very well and showed excellent sportsmanship.
As we couldn't take the whole class to the tournament at Maidstone Leisure Centre, we held our own 2L agility tournament at school instead!
The Great Fire of London Workshop
We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this interactive workshop. We learnt lots more about the Fire of London and had great fun bringing Pudding Lane to life!
Maths Calculations Afternoon
Thank you to the parents who attend our calculations afternoon. We hope that it gave you an insight into how we teach the children to add, subtract, multiply and divide in Year Two. Click here to download a copy of the Year Two calculations policy.
Our Topic is this term is The Great Fire of London. While half of the class are at Kindermusik, we have been learning the song London's burning.

We did a reading swap with 4H. We chose a book and read to each other!
We had great fun making story boxes with the help of 4H!
We were very lucky to be visited by published author Alan Durant today in Penguin Class! Alan read 'Billy Monster's Daymare' to the class, a story about monsters who are afraid of children, it made us laugh out loud!
PE in Penguin Class
We have been learning about the game 'Kabaddi'. Kabaddi is a tag game that is around 4000 years old and is very popular in India and Nepal. Here are some photos of us playing an adapted version of Kabaddi (the St John's Way!)
Granny Troll's Birthday Party!
Unfortunately Grandpa Troll was feeling poorly on the day of the party (apparently he ate some frogs spawn that had gone bad!) so Granny Troll called us to let us know she would be unable to attend. We still had great fun at the party and played a few games that we created, including snail snail troll and sleeping slugs!
